I’ve always been a creative. From loving experimenting in a sketchbook and exploring drawing and painting to any craft that involves yarn and textiles, making has been the thread that runs through every chapter of my life.
After studying woven textile design, I worked in the industry until motherhood shifted my path. I wanted to keep creating—but life was full—so I co-founded Suzie Jules with my mum, designing handmade children’s clothes and accessories. It was a joyful venture that fit around my growing family.
But life pivoted again. My time helping in my children's schools inspired me to become a primary school teacher, a role I loved but one that left little room for my creative self. Teaching consumed me and eventually, it burned me out.
That’s when crochet found me.
What started as self-care became a lifeline. Something I did just for me. It reignited my creativity and helped me heal. Before long, that quiet craft turned into something more: selling handmade products, hosting workshops, designing kits, and slowly finding my way back to myself as a maker and entrepreneur.
That journey—from hobbyist to handmade seller to mentor—is why I do what I do today.
Because I know what it’s like to feel stuck.
To wonder if your craft is “good enough to sell.”
To want to build something of your own but not know where to start.
I’ve walked the slow road of rediscovery, second-guessing myself the whole way.
But I’ve also learned this: you don’t need a six-figure dream to build something meaningful.
You just need a clear path, a little belief, and the right kind of support.
I believe creativity is powerful. It can heal, connect, and create income in a way that feels good.
I believe crafting isn’t “just a hobby.” It’s a valid, valuable skill worth sharing and charging for.
I believe women deserve to feel confident, seen, and financially empowered by what they make.
And I believe business doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or pushy. It can be calm, joyful, and sustainable.
